This blog is for the use of 8th grade students to share and improve their writing. The students will respond to novel discussions and will choose topics of interest to blog about and I will moderate and administrate their posts. Our goal is to share our voices with an authentic audience who will provide us feedback on our thoughts. We hope you enjoy our work!

Banning Books
I don't think books should banned. They might want to ban books because they think it is inappropriate, think kids will get ideas from books and act them out, or they just don't want there kids to read it. Books bring people entertainment and excitement. While reading you can learn new things. It can help you expand your vocabulary and expand your mind and make you think more or differently they you have before.

I agree with your comment Drew. I believe that the people in the community should be allowed to read and have the ability to increase their knowledge about what is going on beyond their community. This would cause small stirs, but would not cause a huge uprising, which is the reason that they are not allowed to read books other than the dictionary, the Book of Rules, and the book about their community.
