Does Grammar Matter?

In the blog "I won't hire people who use poor grammar here's why By Kyle Wiens." The author distinctively points out on how Grammar is a number one importance for today's world whether it is applying for a job or using social media, like Facebook, Twitter, and blogs etc. I thoroughly agree with this article because I also feel that grammar should be a number once importance for us. Grammar is a big thing but I don't mind some slang here and there talking to some friends, I am not what some people call a Grammar "Stickler". When you are applying for a job make sure you don't make any grammar mistakes or misspell anything on your job application. My whole point was to make sure you don't make a fool of yourself and use bad grammar, and make sure you use proper grammar for important things.

  1. Very true, I hate it when people misspell on Facebook, Instagram, and Twitter. I know I don't have the best spelling or grammar, but I like to proofread everything before I hit the post button.

  2. I agree, you should have proper grammar on important things such as job applications, school projects, etc. Although I think you should have explained this more, and personally I do not like using slang words. AR-SGGS

  3. I agree with your comment on this topic. I think it is fine to use slang with your friend or family, but when you're at school, you better get out you're best grammar and you will not want to misspell a word when you are doing a job application. Great post, buddy.

  6. I really liked your blog. It is very well written and there are no GUM errors. (Grammar, usage, and mechanics.) I'm not what you would call a grammar "stickler" either, but I still think it is very important. Over all, great job!

  7. I agree! If you are talking with friend of family then it would be okay to use bad grammar. When you are at work though, you should use well grammar. Nicolas Grade 8

  8. I agree with your post. I think that grammar is one of the most important things in our society today. I understand if you are talking with your friends and you use slang, but if you were talking to someone important you should use good grammar. - Ben Grade 7

  9. You should definitely use good grammar on a job application and when you are talking to a very important person. I don't use perfect grammar when I'm talking to my friends though. A lot of things online now a days have spelling errors and punctuation errors. I think that there is no excuse to use bad grammar when there is a dictionary that you could look a word up in if you didn't know how to spell something.

  10. Nice post! I agree that you should never misspell a word on a application for a job because the person hiring you will think your unprofessional. I disagree that you should always use perfect grammar because then you won't have fun.
