I feel like grammar is important in life. Even though you can play a sport or build a machine, you also need to know how to spell and speak properly. In the article, Kyle Wiens clearly states that people who use poor grammar are stupid. I don't really agree with that statement. I think that if people use poor grammar are not really trying at all. Usually over texts or Facebook I see people using the words "u" instead of "you" or "r" instead of "are", and that really gives me a different perspective on how those people speak in real life. I don' really want to judge people on how they speak, but I want them to know that sometimes when they text just one letter for fun over a text, that letter could also be a mistake you make on a report or test. I do think people should try more on using proper grammar. You can do it if you try! Can't you?

I agree with you Marco. The more people use text speech, the more they will use it in professional situations. Do you have a solution for that? If so, I would love to hear it.
ReplyDeleteI have kind of figured that if we don't really text fast and take our time with text speech than that will rub off, on our speaking and we would probably be more accurate with our speaking than we are now. If that doesn't work then I feel like we should probably stick to calling people instead of text speaking. I mean it's not that hard, and if your in the middle of something important, you can wait. It's not that hard! Text Speech is affecting our Speech. Just try to text more properly and not rapidly.
DeleteI agree, I think people should stop being lazy and use proper grammar. It's not like people are not capable.

ReplyDeleteI completely agree with you everyone needs to learn to spell and speak. You make a great point about texting, Facebook, and getting so used to it that you could do it on a report. You made a very minor mistake forgetting the "t" on don't. Overall your blog was well written and backed by logical reasons KA-SGGS
ReplyDeleteI agree, it annoys me when people say "u" instead of "you", "r" instead of "are", "ur" instead of "your". Seriously, is it that big of a deal to type 2 or 3 more letters?

The most awesome part in your post was your point about the texting. I agree sometimes you can form opinions about people that are too lazy to capitalize the first letter in sentences or write out the full word. I like the point that you are trying to make. LM-SGGS
ReplyDeleteMarco this is good post I like how you used examples of bad grammar. But why do you think people should have good grammar you didn't really explain it.
ReplyDeleteGreat job! I totally agree 100%. Especially about how people may mess up on a important assignment just because they got into the habit of having bad grammar. But at the same time, I think people write "u" and "r" because it doesn't take as long to write.

I agree with what you said. I see this often on social media sites. People use u for you and other abbreviations for other words. I think people abbreviate words because they are in a rush.

I disagree because when your texting its quicker to spell r for are u for you or 2 for two.
