D.P.S Quote (M. M.)

- D.p.s Quote -

“Believe in yourself. Do not abandon your convictions because it is not what others believe.”
You see, I really want to become a known gamer on the internet, and I feel as if this quote relates to me in many ways. It tells me that even though I may do bad in school or people say I won’t make it anywhere in life, I can still follow my dream and do whatever I love to do because that is what I worked for my whole entire life. Even if it involved me putting school, or friends aside, I still followed my dream to get me where I want to be. Even if my parents or friends say it’s stupid or that I will be nothing off of what goals I am trying to achieve, I will still strive for the glory of success and become the thing I always wanted to be.

Your own path in LIFE...

“I want you to find your own walk” is a quote from the Dead Poet’s Society. This quote tells me that I must choose a path that I am going to walk for the rest of my life. It tells me that I should choose a path that is best suitable for me and what I believe. I take this quote and reflect on it in my life because this is  a very important year for me and this quote just sums it up into a few words.
As I graduate from grade school and focus on high school , I must choose a path that is right for me. I must choose a path in life that I won't regret when I get older. I am the only person that can make this decision. By reading this quote “I want you to find your own walk” over and over again , It tells me that I shouldn't follow the person in back of me or in front of me. I should create my own path and walk it with my head held high with no regrets.  High school comes with peer pressure, cliques, hard work and life changing decisions. I believe that by choosing to walk the road that was less traveled on, I will become more successful in life. My goal in life is to become a Pediatrician, a medical doctor who manages the physical and mental health of a child. When I was about four or five years old, I made this decision and have always stuck with it. I have always wanted to work with children because that has always been my natural instinct.
I believe that 80% of Americans have goals in life and don’t follow up because of the path that they have chosen when they were my age. I don’t think that they believed that they could make it that far and look where it has gotten them. From the day that I was born, I was told to believe in anything that I set my mind to. I believe that I will chose the right path in life because of the type of mindset that I have and how focused I am.
There are so many people that believe in me and know that I can do what I set my mind to. I don't want people to walk in my shoes and understand me, I want people to look at the path that I am choosing and create their own way of life. I am creating my own way of life and my future because I know whatever I do, it will always be successful. Have you found  you own walk and created your own path? I have!

Autumn again, and Boo’s children needed him.

The end of the coming of age novel, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee, reads the warming quote “ Autumn again, and Boo’s children needed him” that describes everything the two children Jem and Scout have been through since the beginning of the novel. Through the intense prejudice against them to their growing up realizing their town beliefs are harsher than they realize. They stood up to mobs, watched their father shoot for the first time and witnessed an unfair ruling go to a innocent man. Through all this they were watched over by their mysterious friend Boo who saved their lives, kept them warm and gave them treasures and lessons that they will never lose. This quote describes how Boo Radley although never truly there watched out for his two kids through their rough time. Although there real father was with them the whole time of this unfairness the were really Boo’s children in the end.

Interpretive Writing-"To Kill a Mockingbird" By Nathan Parmegiani

The novel, “To Kill a Mockingbird” By Harper Lee was a novel taken place in the 1930s, this novel was very inspirational and heart touching. The “To Kill a Mockingbird” novel is a  story about two children finding out that life isn't perfect for them or anyone. “You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view... Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it.”  I believe that this quote is directed towards the African Americans in the novel because when something that has to do with Black folk prejudice jams the towns mind with prejudice. So Atticus told Scout that if you step in someone else's shoes you get to understand them more, than just being prejudice and mean against them. Black people are the same as white people but people are rude and prejudice and don’t like them for someone reason I don’t know why. I feel as if no one should judge someone else they should get to know them and see how their life is and don’t be mean. I would never judge someone or be prejudice until I took things from their point of view.

The World's Mockingbirds, By Michael Leopanto

The novel, “To Kill A Mockingbird,” By Harper Lee, is a story set in the early 1930s that teaches life lessons about both prejudice and contradiction while explaining the way the people of Maycomb, Alabama suffered from both a Nation-wide depression and a form of prejudice so strong it literally causes them to act as a mad dog. Throughout the tale of a carefree family living in a mixed up world both the reader and the protagonists learn that life is not always easy when people begin to suffer from their own beliefs. The pure prejudice toward others and toward the African Americans of Maycomb county teaches a lesson itself about how far people will go to stand up for their beliefs whether they are morally in sync or not. Just by reading the novel you get a feel for how people actually think and how they act in their own moral aspects. The novel also shows that you should never harm someone who does absolutely nothing to you and who would never harm anyone else through the Tom Robinson trial. One thing to take from this novel is that people overreact to a situation do to categories in class and in life itself, and that is immoral!

"I’d rather you shot at tin cans in the backyard, but I know you’ll go after birds. Shoot all the blue-jays you want, if you can hit ‘em, but remember it’s a sin to kill a mockingbird." This quote defines the concept of morality over prejudice by actually taking a relatable topic and expressing to the reader that it is important to showcase virtue and integrity in their everyday life.
The beginning of the quote expresses that a moral person would rather everyone take their anger and wrong views out on unimportant objects rather than people. The second part of the quote sincerely expresses that a moral person would not ever accuse a harmless person and a moral person would stand up for a situation when an immoral person is accused of something and almost let off the hook. In this quote a mockingbird symbolizes a moral person while a blue-jay symbolizes an immoral person. After all a blue-jay always picks at crops, nests in the wrong places, and causes everyone trouble, a mockingbird does not!

In all honesty this quote has became one of my favorite life quotes to live by. If everyone in the world lived by the symbolic views this quote expresses the world would be a much better place to live in. It is wrong to attack a person who has never done anything to the world but “make beautiful music for us to enjoy” or help us in every way possible. If our world just as the world of Maycomb considers all to be equal why are hundreds of lives around our planet terminated each year due to some sort of bullying situation! If all are equal why do some people enter their job or school building each day scared to speak up for our beliefs. These are the people in our world who could make beautiful music... these are the people that could have one day stopped all war and started the beginnings of world peace if they weren't afraid to speak up because of the man holding the gun. Because of our wrongful accusations, because of our prejudice, and because of our blindness to the truth they are muzzled, or they could be dead.  These are the mockingbirds of our world, these could have been our leaders!

The kinds of Men in this world Am. D

“To Kill a Mockingbird,” By Harper Lee is a story about a family who at first were care free  in their town of Maycomb, but as their father received a case, they found out the prejudice and evil inside their in town was the exact opposite of their expectations. In the novel, the children’s father, Atticus, was talking to them about people in general. He stated “There are some kind of men....Who’re so busy worrying  about the next world that they never learned to  to live in this one. This quote affected me greatly because there are many people in this world who spend so much time trying to get into heaven that they forget that God wants them to actually enjoy themselves on earth. If we all were perfect, then what’s penance for? I  feel this quote is directed to the prejudice people of  Maycomb because of their prejudice towards the discrepancies of others. The people are so angry about how you're are really supposed to treat others that they forget that’s definitely the wrong way of getting into heaven. This mostly reminded me of the foot-washing baptist. They follow everything the bible says, but then they end up doing exactly what god doesn't want you to do, judge others. They judged Miss Maudie because she was doing her planting. If people want to make it to heaven, just live you're life with integrity and with good morals on earth instead of wasting your life trying to reach heaven.

Another Person's Perspective by Emily Hodge

One of the most awe inspiring novels that ever hit the market was “To Kill a Mockingbird,” by Harper Lee. “To Kill a Mockingbird” was a story about a simple town with people who were blinded by their prejudice, these two children are going to find out that life isn’t really perfect with the help and protection of the acclaimed phantom Boo Radley. Atticus expresses to the children that “you never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view- until you climb in his skin and walk around in it”. This quote really jumped out and spoke to me, it can mean a variety of different things. I feel that this quote is directed towards Boo Radley, because no one really understood why he stayed in his home for so long. This really showed me that people are quick to judge others because of things that they find different or weird. Boo simply wanted to stay in and keep away from the judgemental people of the town. People were quick to judge him by saying things like he was a monster, he ate cats, left his house at  night to stare in ladies windows and many other absurd things. He really didn’t do any of those things and was quite nice. When we found out what he was really like, I was surprised because I felt that maybe he had done some of the things people were claiming and did find it odd that he refused to leave his house. Until we actually knew the real him, I was judgemental and like the rest of the people in the small town of Maycomb. This novel really caused a change inside of me, I feel that some of my judgemental ways have disappeared and I saw things the way the children did by looking at things from other peoples’ points of view.

" Walking In Other Skin" "To Kill A Mockingbird"

                                             To Kill A Mockingbird

“To Kill A Mockingbird” by Harper Lee. “To Kill A Mockingbird” is a story about loyal family who lives a unfair life just for defending a black man at a trial. The story takes place in Maycomb, Alabama which is one of the most tedious towns in America. The town is full of prejudice people and the town goes berserk every time something is involved with a black man. “You never really understand a person until you consider things from his point of view... Until you climb inside of his skin and walk around in it” this  is a quote from “To Kill A Mockingbird” which means never judge someone you don't know, when you live the life they're living then you judge them. There is an abundance of judging and prejudice in that town. The prejudice in that town killed an innocent black man named Tom Robinson. Tom got accused for something he did not do. That quote pretty much summarizes the whole story because that’s all there is in this town is judging and being prejudice. I think the book was tremendous but life was very unfair for Colored people and the Finch family. I think that atticus is a hero because he tried his hardest to prove Tom innocent. Atticus even took lots of cruel name calling and even got spat on but still held his temper. Knowing that if Atticus defended this man he was going to face many problems, thats a HERO!!

The Ninny and the Governess

Anton Chekhov and Neil Simon, two short story/playwrights wrote about a maid who was too shy to correct her employer, so she accepted less pay than she earned. In both of the stories the employer played a trick on there governess(another name for a maid) to see if they would protest against them when they attempted to pay them the wrong amount of money. The way that the authors depicted the employers. The employer spoke with great disrespect in both of these stories. The employer in the Governess  in my opinion was more disrespectful and sour to the maid/governess. In the Ninny apologized for playing a trick on the governess and gladly gave her the correct pay. In the Ninny the employer used a very cantankerous tone when she spoke to the governess. The Governess was spineless and weak since she did not defend the fact that she was not going to receive the pay that she earned but why would that absolutely concern those people so much. I think there would be a better way for them to try to convince her to show more strength defend herself. The cruel trick played on the Governess in my opinion was not as cruel as they made it out to be.The authors of the stories did a great job expressing the anger in the voices of the employer and the worry in the voices of the Governess.

To Kill a Mockingbird

“To Kill a Mockingbird” by Harper Lee is a story of kids who live a normal life in Maycomb but soon their life takes a turn for the worst when their father takes a case for an innocent black man being accused of rape. “Dill?” “Mm?” “Why do you reckon Boo Radley’s never run off?” Dill took a long sigh and turned away from me. “Maybe he just doesn't have anywhere to run off to…” This story tells the hardship of supporting something or someone that no one else supports. Basically, everyone in Maycomb doesn't support the African Americans and during the trial, they don’t support Tom and Atticus during his case. Only a few people understood that they knew Tom was innocent but the other didn't. In the end, every problem that was solved and they went back to a normal life with one new detail.
