Integrity by Anirah Drew

How does a person of Integrity live? A person can live by integrity by being honest, reliable, and having moral principles. I have to say that after reading “ Thank you M’am” I realized that many other people do not live with integrity. They are the people who lie constantly or steal from other people repeatedly . By a guess, you can tell who does and doesn't live with integrity. You should always have integrity or soon people will lose trust in you . When you lie to your best friend saying that you didn't go to that other party but you really did is a good example. The other girl will slowly lose trust in her best friend. Integrity is important to have as a quality in your life.
I don’t live by integrity. I usually lie to my parents or siblings so I won’t get in trouble.
Once I lied to my sister Maya saying that I didn't steal her money but I did so that we could have the same amount as each other. She still doesn't know ‘till this day ( Sorry Maya ). It’s hard for me sometimes to be honest. I lie constantly to hide things or because I don’t want to hurt others. When I speak my mind, I sometimes get ridiculed for it. I don’t live by integrity because I usually lie all the time. I mean I am honest when I need to or feel like it but besides that I lie. I find it harder to tell the truth. It’s really difficult to explain to people that for me being honest is harder. Basically, I am not a girl of integrity.

I want to live a life of integrity. I’m trying to be honest with other people so that I can be a person of integrity. I hope that in the future I can say to myself that I was a person of integrity.

  2. I really like your blog because it took you a lot of courage to post that story you put about lying to your sister about taking her money. I also like the part where you said,"It's harder to tell the truth," because it's true! I find it harder to tell the truth but at the same time it is the right thing to do. If someone lies constantly their lies keep building up and at some point in their life everything's going to crash down.

  3. This post really spoke to me. When you said "It’s hard for me sometimes to be honest. I lie constantly to hide things or because I don’t want to hurt others. When I speak my mind, I sometimes get ridiculed for it" I could see myself saying that! Great post!

  4. I actually laughed in the second paragraph. "She still doesn't know ‘till this day ( Sorry Maya )." I also find it very easy to relate at how we are ridiculed when speaking our minds. Though there are times when to be speak honestly and to smile sweetly.

    1. Thank you! I think mostly everyone laughed when I stated that in my article but not necessarily Maya. By the way, I enjoyed your blog as well. Thanks again, Ysabel!

  5. "When I speak my mind, sometimes I get ridiculed for it." This statement really speaks to me. Sometimes people need to keep their opinion to themselves about other people's opinions on things. We should be able to speak freely on what we believe in. Great blog, very well written!

  6. I agree with it all, it is hard to be honest with the people that you love. When you think that keeping a secret is going to protect the ones you love really doesn't, it tears your relationship apart. Telling the truth is the right thing. It keeps you out of the trouble it might cause later on.

  7. I really enjoyed reading your blog! I understand how hard it is to stay honest. Especially when put in a difficult situation. I think that everyone has to learn to live by integrity, and everyone struggles. In your case, honesty is a problem. To be completely honest myself, I have a problem with accepting other's opinions. I really like how you admitted the truth in this blog, which means you are one step closer to becoming honest yourself. ~Elizabeth C -SGGS

  8. I really enjoyed your blog, Anirah. I agree with Isabelle, it did take a lot of courage to post this about lying to your sister. (we have all done it before, no one is perfect) I enjoyed the part where you said "You should always have integrity or soon people will lose trust in you ." this is very true. You sound like a person that truthfully does want to live a life of integrity. Just like you said "I hope that in the future I can say to myself that I was a person of integrity."

  9. Nice blog! I loved how you incorporated real-life examples into your blog. When you said, “I find it harder to tell the truth” that line related to me. It is definitely harder to tell the truth especially when you know you are going to get in trouble.

  10. I really enjoyed your blog Anirah! I agree with Elizabeth that it is very hard to tell the truth especially when you know the consequences. I also liked how honestly you wrote your blog, that takes a lot of courage! My two favorite lines were " You should always have integrity or soon people will lose trust in you ." and " Integrity is important to have as a quality in your life." Integrity is a very important thing to have in life and we should all try our best to have integrity.

  11. Hi Anirah! I really liked you blog. I enjoyed how you used the story "Thank you M'am" to help relate to your meaning of integrity. I also think it was really brave of you to openly admit that you are not the most honest person. I agree with you when you wrote, "It’s hard for me sometimes to be honest." Sometimes, it is difficult to tell the truth, but it is really neat that in the future you are striving to be a person of integrity! Great job!

Not many people have the guts to put some of the lies or some of the dishonest things they have done in a blog post. Very well written!!! Great job!!! :)
